BookMarkPlus serves thousands of people every day and that costs money. I briefly considered plastering your page with adverts to cover these costs but I don't want to do that. It would compromise your privacy and get in the way of the superbly simple and functional interface.
The most expensive part of running BookMarkPlus is responding to requests for help when something goes wrong. In the course of the last year there has not been a single incident caused by a problem with the system - every one of these requests has been as a result of something on the user side.
